    Well, even from HUAWEI, the publicly released teaser video shows a tri-fold screen design. On the contrary, it expands on other designs, like an octagonal lens and a periscope telephoto camera, down to the metal body. This device’s back looks very much like the design of the Mate X5 foldable phone.

    Moreover, the back of the Mate XT wears both the HUAWEI and ULTIMATE DESIGN brand logos, while the leather cover gives it that touch of class. It would seem like the designers have focused on making this device both good-looking and durable at the same time.

    BOE display technology

    The Mate XT will use a screen provided by BOE, a company renowned for its display technologies. According to reports, BOE Chairman Chen Yanshun said this tri-fold screen was developed through close collaboration between HUAWEI and BOE. It unfolds into a large, almost tablet-sized display.

    The company has also announced that famous actor-musician Andy Lau will be the ambassador for Mate XT. His participation in the teaser video forms part of the marketing strategy of the company for the new device.
