Now, the benchmark scores gave the first taste of what to expect as it sports Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, 12 GB RAM and Android 15. These details give a preliminary view of the new flagship hardware by Samsung from where final performance may differ.

Benchmark scores and comparison

On Geekbench, the Galaxy S25 Ultra scored 3011 in the single-core test, and scores shot to 9706 on multicore. These scores are lower than those recently published for the OnePlus 13, which also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. However, according to leaker Ice Universe, these results aren’t final, and more optimization will be done before its release.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy: Enhanced power for Samsung’s flagship

One of the major highlights of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is going to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy. The more enhanced chip should thus deliver better processing power compared to its previous sibling. The chip contains 2 x prime cores clocked at 4.47GHz-the standard version being capped at 4.32GHz, while the remaining 6 x performance cores hit 3.53GHz.

Further, it will be the first Galaxy device to equip a Qualcomm’s Nuvia CPU architecture. It has the potential to deliver improved performance and performance even while giving better power efficiency. Overall effectiveness would be something best understood after official testing and release.

Adreno 830 GPU and 3 nm process technology

Benchmark data suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra should have an Adreno 830 GPU that operates up to 1250MHz. We can generally expect improvements on graphics everywhere, and some efficiency too, thanks to TSMC’s new 3 nm process. The broader trends are such, but technical details will come into focus only with practical benefits.

Memory options: 12 GB and 16 GB variants

Although the Geekbench listing shows that the 12 GB RAM version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is on the way, according to sources, Samsung might be planning to introduce a 16 GB RAM model (via GSMARENA) for this handset. Then, the additional RAM can be used for improved performance at the cost of the users who want to indulge in heavy multitasking or resource-intensive applications.

Expected timeline and competitors

Although these benchmarks surfaced early, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series isn’t expected until next year. Besides, Xiaomi 15 series (via Gadgets360) will be sporting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, expected after the Snapdragon Summit 2024.
