    Blazing fast CPU performance

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is built with Qualcomm’s 2nd generation custom Oryon CPU, engineered to provide significant performance increases. The CPU peak speeds have been pushed to as high as 4.32 GHz and the new architecture promises to bring a whopping increase of 45% over single-threaded and multi-thread tasks when compared to its previous generation counterpart. The central processing architecture also boasts about a power efficiency improvement of 44%.

The CPU configuration comes with 2 Prime cores running at up to 4.32 GHz and 6 Performance cores that can work at up to 3.53 GHz. The LPDDR5X memory runs at 5300MHz, and so the platform can process data rather rapidly. The chipset has a large shared cache that supports faster data retrieval, thus both regular usage and gaming experiences will benefit.

Qualcomm claims that the CPU is 30 percent faster than the previous generation at the same power levels and uses 57 percent less power, sources claim. In benchmark comparisons, it reportedly outpaces Apple’s A18 Pro.

Revolutionizing graphics with the Adreno GPU

The Snapdragon 8 Elite packs a customized Adreno GPU using a sliced architecture, with each slice having dedicated memory. That should help optimize for both performance and battery life. There’s promise of 40 percent greater performance from the GPU in addition to 35 percent more ray-tracing capability.

The GPU further comes with support for Unreal Engine 5.3 Nanite to produce detailed 3D environments and better graphics overall.

Advanced AI with the Hexagon NPU

Snapdragon 8 Elite supports Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU, which is considered to be the fastest in the class. It claims to improve AI performance by up to 45% and is said to be more power-efficient than previous generations. The new capabilities of the handset through Multimodal Gen AI can enhance all interactions where there are voices, texts, and images, and can analyze visual input of the camera.

    Next-level photography with AI-driven ISP

Snapdragon 8 Elite processes an advanced AI-powered ISP, which teams up with the Hexagon NPU for improving image capture. The Limitless Segmentation capability would enable the ISP to segment more than 250 layers in images in order to better recognize and enhance the various constituent elements within the frame.

Additionally, ISP provides in-camera skin tone and sky tone adjustments in real time, and introduces the capability of verification via Truepic with C2PA to ensure that photos and videos captured come from the true source. Video Object Eraser allows removal of unwanted objects directly from device video record.

    Breakthrough connectivity and battery efficiency

The Snapdragon 8 Elite uses the Snapdragon X80 5G Modem RF System, which has been designed specifically for a superior 5G connection in comparison with improved speed and performance. Qualcomm claims a 30 percent improvement in location accuracy, even in adverse environments.

The chipset also supports Wi-Fi 7 at speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps. In addition, two antennas are used for dual Bluetooth connections via the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System. The system reportedly boasts up to 40 percent better power savings and can deliver advanced features like simultaneous high-band multi-link connectivity.

Manufacturers set to launch devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite

Qualcomm officially announced that a wide range of OEMs, such as ASUS, HONOR, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Samsung, Vivo, and more are going to be supported by the company with the flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite.
