Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 15, in China. The phone is developed with a focus on premium materials and high-end specifications. The Xiaomi 15 boasts several improvements from previous models, especially in terms of display technology, camera capabilities, and charging options.
A cutting-edge display built for precision and performance
The Xiaomi 15 packs a 6.36-inch OLED M9 LTPO screen with a 1.5K resolution and 3200 nits of peak brightness. The display features an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate to adjust the usage and ensure smooth visuals with optimum power efficiency.
With a 1.38 mm bezel, Xiaomi has worked to increase the screen-to-body ratio without enlarging the phone. The frame is made of aviation-grade aluminum, so it’s tough but also aerodynamic for comfortable one-handed use. On the whole, the use of usability with premium feel in Xiaomi’s design is encapsulated in this case by keeping the rounded corners and the sharp edges in the body at a size of 71.2 mm in order to support one-handed usage.
Peak performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite and advanced cooling
At its core, the Xiaomi 15 features the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The device has a wing-shaped cold pump cooling system, designed with vapor-liquid separation and a one-way circulation structure. Xiaomi claims that such a setup can provide up to three times the cooling efficiency of traditional vapor chamber systems, implying it might perform better with resource-intensive applications like gaming.
Leica-enhanced triple camera system with advanced computational photography
The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 2.6x telephoto lens. The main sensor here is 1/1.31-inch with an aperture of f/1.62, which is for low-light photography. The lenses are developed in collaboration with Leica, and Xiaomi has attached its AISP 2.0 computational photography platform to help process images for better accuracy and detail. In security area, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner has also been integrated for biometric security
Enhanced battery life with fast charging options
The Xiaomi 15 is packed with a 5400mAh battery. It is an increase of 790mAh over the previous model while maintaining the same volume efficiency. The device can charge completely in 31 minutes through 90W wired charging, and also offers 50W wireless and 30W magnetic wireless charging options.
Aesthetic options and limited edition model
The Xiaomi 15 is available in five colors: Black, White, Asakusa Green, Lilac, and Bright Silver. Moreover, a Diamond Limited Edition comes with diamond-inlaid frames and a textured Kona leather back panel. It is available in Glacier White, Elephant Gray, and Orange.
