Apple to launch new Macs with M4 chips in November 2024: Report

Apple will unveil new Macs with M4-series processors in November 2024, according to information obtained by MacRumors from a source that has asked not to be named. If accurate, this would mark the first mention of a launch month for the upcoming M4 Macs, but Apple traditionally has introduced new Macs later in the year.

    Possible November event announcement

According to a reliable source speaking to MacRumors, Apple’s timeline for the release in November would leave room for an event announcement this month. Last year, of course, Apple announced its “Scary Fast” event on Tuesday, October 23, and held the event on Monday, October 30. During that event, the company introduced new models of MacBook Pro and iMac featuring M3 chips launched on Tuesday, November 7. All this could follow a similar course this year.

Rumored new Mac models with M4-Series chips

There are rumors that Apple will produce four new models housing the M4-series chips before this year ends. These reportedly include an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, respectively, a new iMac with the M4 chip, and a redesigned Mac mini, available with both M4 and M4 Pro chips.

Outside the updated Mac mini, these are reported to be minor refreshes centered around the chip upgrades, with a rumored hardware update to 16 GB of memory standard for the first time across the entire lineup. Eventually, recent reports indicate that some of these models have already entered mass production, aligning with the expected November release date.

It could be a possible November release that would continue the pattern Apple’s taking with updating Mac models with performance-enhanced ones since the annual product update cycle.
