    Flipkart announces Big Billion Days 2024: Massive deals and discounts starting September 27

    After months of wait, e-commerce major Flipkart finally released dates for its much-awaited annual sale event, The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2024, to take place from September 27 to October 6, 2024. This will be the 11th edition of the event under which this year too multiple deals in products in categories of electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more are expected to feature.

    Infrastructure expansion and job creation

    Flipkart has established 11 new fulfillment centers (FCs) across nine cities to meet the demand during the festive season. That brings the number of FCs to 83, from which it can steadily build on its logistics capabilities. Moreover, more than 1 lakh new jobs have also been added in this phase, thus underscoring that the firm is contributing the highest source of employment for the economy while positively impacting local economies.

    Early support for sellers and small businesses

    Flipkart has created the Big Sale of Small Things on September 15, 2024. The company continued to show support to small businesses through its Flipkart Samarth initiative with which over 1.8 million livelihoods have been impacted and more than a hundred traditional art forms have been saved. More than 4,500 sellers have participated in conclaves across India in preparation for the TBBD event. Additionally, Flipkart has increased seller rewards by 20%.

    New features for a tech-driven shopping experience

    Flipkart has been introducing several technological innovations during TBBD 2024 in an effort to improve the overall online shopping experience.

    • Video Commerce: Customers will be able to engage in live commerce sessions where brands are offering exclusive offers and products.
    • Flippi 2.0: A GenAI-powered assistant will help customers discover personalized deals and answer questions like “What’s the best deal for my budget?”
    • Immersive Shopping: Features such as 3D product explainer videos and virtual try-ons will let users make better buying decisions.
    • Gamified Engagement: Through FireDrops, consumers will be able to do more things and earn SuperCoins in Flipkart UPI.

    Financial partnerships and payment options

    Flipkart has partnered with HDFC Bank, wherein customers can avail a flat 10% discount on debit and credit card transactions involving EMI options. Besides, Axis Bank credit card holders can enjoy up to 5% unlimited cashback. More payment options available include No Cost EMIs and Flipkart Pay Later — instant credit and lots of cashback opportunities.

    Benefits for Flipkart Plus and VIP members

    For Flipkart Plus and VIP, early access to TBBD 2024 is available from 26 September 2024. Exclusive offers and more deals through redemption using SuperCoins will be available for the customers. For VIPs, some may get a refund of up to Rs. 10,000 on their order, thus encouraging them to order as early as possible.

    Travel deals and Shopsy offerings

    Flipkart’s travel service, Cleartrip, will provide discounted travel alternatives, including accommodation in hotels at as little as Rs. 2,499 and domestic flights starting from Rs. 999. On top of that, customers will get up to 15% off on hotel bookings and enjoy Rs. 1 flight cancellations through Flipkart and Myntra.

    Meanwhile, Flipkart’s Shopsy platform will provide customers with more than 160 million products at competitive prices. First-time users will get a lot of special discounts.
