vivo and its sub-brand iQOO have introduced the latest version of mobile software, Funtouch OS 15, in the Indian market. The company took on X (formerly Twitter) to announce the launch of Funtouch OS 15. Eventually, the new version of mobile software is based on Android 15. In other words, the latest version of custom UI brings in a comprehensive package of features that hope to maximize perfection in user experience with feedbacks collected, making vivo and iQOO the first in line among region’s early adopters of Android 15.

Funtouch OS 15 focuses on fluidity

Funtouch OS 15’s mantra, however, is fluidity in the system. The OS replaces Android’s Fair Scheduling algorithm with proprietary Priority Scheduling from vivo, based on priority given to computing power to foreground and actively running processes. This change is said to get about 15% faster application launch times on devices running demanding usage conditions.

Additionally, the software uses Memory Enhancement Technology that employs a zRAM memory compression algorithm that boosts compression speed to 40%. With such technology, the software curbs GPU memory utilization by background applications; therefore, multitasking becomes much more efficient.

It also brings in vivo’s Origin Animation to improve the smoothness of user interactions. Along with the goal of Lightning-Speed Engine for faster app startup times, which should be about 20% faster, and the Aqua Dynamic Effect, moulting the fluidity of water, Funtouch OS 15 brings various tweaks both visually and in terms of performance meant to result in a less intuitive user experience.

Beyond that, over 700 touch scenarios have been optimized to improve ergonomics for a more consistent and responsive touch experience.

    Customization features: Greater user control

Funtouch OS 15 offers users a wide variety of personalization options so that they can take over the ways their devices look and feel. In its update, it boasts more than 3,800 redesigned design elements-system colors, fonts, icons, and even illustrations. Besides, nine different system themes and some custom Static, Immersive, and Video Wallpapers will await the users.

Other customizations include four new fingerprint recognition animations and an application icon style that can be customized by adjusting shape and size. Therefore, these options give the flexibility to users who would prefer choosing how their smartphone interface will be in terms of preference.

Funtouch OS 15 optimizes usability for gaming and productivity

In addition to visual and performance enhancements, Funtouch OS 15 also brings along tools that build productivity and entertainment efficiency. AI Image Lab comes along with photo editing tools like automatic quality enhancement and the removal of shadows from documents.

For mobile games, the sidebar retains performance settings and social apps readily available and offers the feature of Game Small Window to easily allow settings to be changed without leaving a game. The user has settings with which to alter the screen refresh rates and touch sensitivity.

On the productive front, Link to Windows has been upgraded and allows vivo phones to connect with PCs seamlessly. Moreover, it supports real-time content syncing, file and photo management across devices, and facilitates an effortless transfer of files between PC and phone.

Besides, S-Capture has been enhanced by offering features like annotating screen recordings, controlling the microphone volume, and managing system audio during recording.
