    Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max launched with A18 Pro chip, OLED display, 48MP camera, action button — starting at $999

    Apple has finally launched the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max along with iPhone 16 to replace the last year’s iPhone 15 Pro series. These devices introduce a bunch of new hardware upgrades along with design, keeping several features familiar. Here’s what is new with the iPhone 16 Pro series:

    iPhone 16 Pro Series features

    The iPhone 16 Pro series retains the use of Titanium for its build, as Apple has been doing earlier. These iPhones are very hard and light due to their Titanium design. While the iPhone 16 Pro boasts a 6.3-inch display, the larger screen, with a 6.9-inch size, on the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the biggest Apple has ever put on its iPhone.

    Furthermore, the screen of both contains 120Hz ProMotion technology for smoother visuals and is embedded with Ceramic Shield protection. In terms of brightness, both the devices offer up to 2000-nit peak brightness for outdoor use, while retaining True Tone and HDR technology.

    Performance powered by A18 Pro chip

    The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max housing the A18 Pro chip uses second-generation 3 nm transistors. The chip houses a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for tasks like machine learning and handling the generative AI models. According to Apple, the high performance cores are up to 15% faster when compared with the A17 Pro, while the efficiency cores consume 20% less power.

    It is also stipulated that this 6-core GPU may have up to 20% faster speeds, which could mean extra graphics performance for gaming or resource-intense tasks for the user. Moreover, the A18 Pro chip also supports much faster USB 3 speeds and ProRes video recording for professional content creators.

    Camera upgrades

    The iPhone 16 Pro comes with a 48MP Fusion new camera, with a second-generation quad-pixel sensor in the camera. Actually, the system is designed to reduce the shutter lag and further support both ProRAW and HEIF formats for high-resolution photos. While the 48MP ultra-wide lens comes with autofocus and macrophotography support, the 5x telephoto lens with a focal length of 120 mm now makes its way onto both Pro and Pro Max variants.

    For the video recording capability, yes, the iPhone 16 Pro series does support 4K120 for higher frame rate recording. They also provide playback frame rates at 120, 60, 30, or 24 fps. There is also a feature called Spatial Audio capture that attempts to enhance the audio while watching videos with AirPods or with Apple Vision Pro.

    Battery and power management

    Both models have bigger batteries and software power management in order to optimize their batteries. According to Apple, the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers the longest battery life ever provided by an iPhone and up to 33 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 16 Pro is capable of going up to 29 hours.

    The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have different storage options, with prices to suit a wide scope of users, as follows:

    iPhone 16 Pro:

    • 128 GB: $999 / ₹1,19,900
    • 256 GB: $1099 / ₹1,29,900
    • 512 GB: $1299 / ₹1,49,900
    • 1 TB: $1499 / ₹1,69,900

    iPhone 16 Pro Max:

    • 256 GB: $1199 / ₹1,44,900
    • 512 GB: $1399 / ₹1,64,900
    • 1 TB: $1599 / ₹1,84,900

    Pre-orders start on September 13th, and it will be available on Apple’s official website, Apple Store app starting from September 20th.
