The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the first models Apple will produce in India, marking a big shift in its plan to diversify production outside of China. According to Bloomberg, Apple has been considering doing this for quite a few years and is now finally ready to bring its high-end iPhone Pro models to Indian soil.
The iPhone 16 Pro models will initially be imported into India before starting to get locally assembled soon after the mid-September launch. This assembly will supply not only the domestic market but also global exports.
Importantly, Foxconn’s factory in southern Tamil Nadu is already gearing up for this shift. Preparations could involve training thousands of workers to align the production rollover with the iPhone 16 Pro models, ensuring close synchronization with the global rollout.
