Apple’s iPhone 17 Air leaked renders showcase ultra-thin design and new camera bar

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is already making headlines, and new leaks indicate that the device may undergo a massive design change. Front Page Tech on YouTube unveiled renders of the much-leaked “iPhone 17 Air” that demonstrate what Apple’s slimmest smartphone ever might look like.

iPhone 17 Air renders reveal ultra-thin build and redesigned camera bar

Front Page Tech released renders of the iPhone 17 Air in a recent video that supposedly show its final design. Its most notable feature is a ridiculously thin profile at 5.5 mm at its thinnest point, according to reports. If true, it would be one of the thinnest iPhones ever made.

In a new video, Front Page Tech posted renders that are claimed to show the final look of the iPhone 17 Air. The most notable aspect is its extremely thin profile, said to be just 5.5 mm thick at its thinnest. If true, this would put it among the thinnest iPhones ever made.

Yet another dramatic change is the addition of a camera bar across the top of the rear shell. The left contains one rear camera, the right contains a microphone and an LED flash. This breaks with Apple’s long-standing camera module design, perhaps establishing a new aesthetic path for the iPhone series.

    Aligning with previous leaks

These renders are consistent with a said iPhone 17 Air shell that appeared last month, lending validity to the design assertions. Further, Front Page Tech also published renders of the so-called “iPhone 17 Pro” with the same camera bar. Apple could be adopting this design for various models if these leaks are accurate.

    Front Page Tech’s track record

Front Page Tech host Jon Prosser has established a reputation for Apple leaks, although his accuracy has been inconsistent. He broke the news on the design of Apple’s AirTag several months ahead of its official release in 2020. He also accurately predicted the major details surrounding the iPad mini 6. All his leaks were not accurate—he had before then alleged that the Apple Watch Series 7 would have flat edges, which never turned out to be the case.

In addition to hardware spills, Prosser has also ventured that iOS 19 will bring a revamped Camera app inspired by visionOS with translucent buttons and menus. If unconfirmed, this suggests possible software tweaks in addition to Apple’s hardware advancements.

What’s next for the iPhone 17 series?

Apple will probably launch the iPhone 17 series in September. With plenty of time before the official launch, more leaks and design speculation will emerge. If the super-slim construction and camera bar are part of the final look, the iPhone 17 Air would be one of Apple’s biggest design changes in years.

As always, while leaks are thrilling, they must be taken with a grain of salt until Apple verifies the details. Keep it locked for more updates as new information comes out.
