MediaTek has launched the Helio G100, their latest 4G System-on-Chip (SoC), officially replacing the Helio G99 that hit the markets in 2022. In a more future-proof way, the Helio G100 becomes constructed with the latest technology using TSMC’s advanced 6 nm (N6) chip production process for leading performance and power efficiency.
Powerful performance
Built upon a mighty architecture, the two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores in the Helio G100 are clocked at speeds of up to 2.2GHz, along with six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 at 2GHz. Quite an improvement over its predecessor in terms of processing power and multitasking. It has ARM Mali-G57 MC2 integrated in GPU for enhanced graphics performance, which can be used in gaming and high-definition content.
Enhanced camera and display capabilities
The most striking feature to look out for in the Helio G100 is its support of up to 200MP camera resolutions, a wholesome bump from the 108MP limit in the G99 line that translates into coveted detail and an imaging level elevated in a user’s hands. Further, the SoC is optimized for support of up to full HD+ resolution displays with a fast 120 Hz refresh rate. So, this also implies that there is a very immersive visual experience.
Connectivity and multimedia
Connectivity comes fast and stably from its predecessor’s baseband setup with a reliable Cat-13 4G LTE modem, dual 4G SIM support, VoLTE, and ViLTE services. In terms of multimedia, the SoC supports the decoding of 2160p video and the encoding of up to 2K at 30fps, FHD at 60fps, and HD at 120fps, bringing in flexibility for quite a host of apps.
