Ultraviolette Automotive, based in Bengaluru and backed by TVS Motor, unveiled two new electric vehicles—the Tesseract electric scooter and the Shockwave Enduro e-bike—during its Ultraviolette Fast Forward India 2025 event. The launch is the company’s entry into the electric scooter market in addition to its further development of performance-focused electric motorcycles.
Tesseract electric scooter: Design and performance
The Tesseract is Ultraviolette’s first electric scooter, which takes the form of a maxi-styled scooter influenced by attack helicopters. The scooter has a substantial front apron, angular side panels, and dual apron-mounted LED projector headlights with floating DRLs. The look combines futuristic elements with aerodynamics.
Under the hood, the Tesseract comes in three variants:
- Tesseract 3.5: 10kW motor, 3.5 kWh battery, offering a range of 162 km (IDC).
- Tesseract 5: 15kW motor, 5 kWh battery, with a range of 220 km (IDC).
- Tesseract 6: 15kW motor, 6 kWh battery, delivering a range of 261 km (IDC).
The highest version is capable of accelerating to 0-60 kmph in 2.9 seconds and reaching 125 kmph as its top speed. Moreover, the rapid charging allows the Tesseract 6 to charge from 0-80% in less than an hour.
Features and technology
The Tesseract is equipped with segment-first features, including:
- 7-inch customizable TFT display with e-SIM connectivity
- ADAS system with front and rear radar for collision warnings and blind-spot detection
- Dual dashcam system
- Wireless charging dock
- 34 liters of under-seat storage (expandable by 12 liters with optional panniers)
- 2-level traction control and 4-level dynamic regenerative braking
- Dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS
The radar-based ADAS system improves rider safety through the provision of spatial awareness, collision warnings, and haptic handlebar warnings for blind spots and overtaking traffic.
Shockwave enduro e-Bike: Performance and design
The Shockwave enduro e-bike is for off-road fans, with its tough enduro design sporting higher fenders, long-travel suspension, and dual-purpose tires. The Shockwave is powered by a mid-motor developing 14.5PS and 505Nm of wheel torque, achieving a top speed of 120 kmph and hitting 0-60 kmph in 2.9 seconds.
With a lightweight 120 kg kerb weight, the e-bike offers a range of 165 km and is equipped with:
- 37 mm telescopic fork with 200 mm wheel travel
- Monoshock rear suspension with 180 mm travel
- Switchable ABS and 4-level traction control
- Digital console with LTE e-SIM and Bluetooth connectivity
Riding gear and future roadmap
Ultraviolette also introduced sophisticated riding wear, which includes the gesture-control Striker One gloves and the Star-suit System Project jacket with reversible heating and cooling functions.
The company is planning to introduce 12 new products on five platforms—F Series (performance bikes), S Series (scooters), L Series (light motorcycles), X Series, and B Series—by 2028 with a target of selling 1 lakh units annually in three to four years.
Pricing and availability
The Tesseract comes in Stealth Black, Sunburst Sand, Sonic Pink, and Solar White colors for Rs. 1.2 lakh for the initial 10,000 units, with a price hike to Rs. 1.45 lakh later.
