BTS’ Jimin’s “Lie” exceeds 250 million streams on Spotify

“Lie” first appeared in BTS’ second full-length album, ‘WINGS,’ released in 2016. It became a standout track from the album, achieving a significant milestone. It was the first song (excluding the title track “Blood, Sweat & Tears”) to hit 200 million streams in January 2023. This marked it as the 53rd song to join BTS’ elite 200 million streaming club.

Jimin’s solo success extends far beyond these numbers. In January 2022, “Lie” became the first BTS solo track to reach 100 million on-demand streams in the U.S. In February of the same year, along with Jimin’s other solo song “Serendipity (Full Length Edition),” both songs sold over 500,000 units in the US. This achievement earned him two gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This made Jimin the first Korean idol to achieve this with two solo songs, including “Lie” now celebrated for reaching 250 million Spotify streams.

In addition to “Lie,” Jimin’s other solo songs, including “Serendipity” (288 million streams) and “Filter” (457 million streams), have all surpassed 250 million streams. On October 10, 2024, Jimin’s total Spotify streams reached an impressive 5 billion, with 4 billion attributed to his solo tracks. This achievement solidifies Jimin as the most-streamed Korean solo artist on the platform and the 8th most-streamed Korean artist overall.
