Jin of BTS continues to reach new heights, with his heartfelt track “The Astronaut” surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify. Released just two months before his military enlistment, “The Astronaut” was a special gift to fans. Its success on the world’s largest music platform speaks to its lasting impact.

Upon its release on October 28, 2022, “The Astronaut” quickly gained momentum, hitting 50 million streams in just 22 days. It went on to reach 60 million streams in 29 days, 70 million in 37 days, and 90 million streams in 57 days. In just 72 days, it surpassed 100 million streams. This set a record as the fastest K-pop solo song by a Korean male artist to reach this milestone.

Jin made a historic debut on Spotify’s ‘Global Top Artist’ and ‘Japan Top Artist’ charts on the day of the song’s release. He became the highest-ranking debut by a Korean solo artist at the time. The song reached 300 million streams by December 6, shortly after Jin’s birthday, and hit 400 million streams by May 17, 2024. In just four months, “The Astronaut” has now crossed the impressive 500 million streams mark on Spotify.
