    BTS’ V dominates iTunes in 108 countries with first solo album ‘Layover’

    V (Kim Taehyung) of BTS continues to prove his immense global appeal as his first solo album ‘Layover’ dominates the iTunes charts. Released in September last year, ‘Layover’ has now topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 108 countries, as of August 25. This achievement makes V one of five Asian solo artists to top iTunes album charts in over 100 countries.

    V’s solo debut made him a global pop sensation with a strong online music presence and dedicated fan base. The album’s standout tracks, “Slow Dancing,” “Rainy Days,” and “Love Me Again,” have also seen tremendous success, topping iTunes Top Songs charts in 100, 103, and 101 countries respectively, proving that ‘Layover’ is universally adored.

    In a historic achievement in June, V became the first Asian solo artist to have every song on an album sell over 100,000 units in the United States. ‘Layover’ also ranked second on Billboard‘s prestigious ‘Billboard 200’ chart, while both “Slow Dancing” and “Love Me Again” made their mark on the ‘Hot 100’.

    Adding to the album’s success, on August 20th, the LP pre-order for ‘Layover’ was launched, creating a frenzy among fans. Despite the last-minute announcement, the ‘Layover’ LP became a bestseller, selling out in Korea and internationally within hours. The LP quickly sold out in Japan’s ‘Universal Music Store,’ ‘BTS JAPAN OFFICIAL SHOP,’ and the US-based ‘Target‘. The ‘Layover’ LP’s sudden release didn’t hinder its success, as it sold out rapidly across various global outlets. ‘Layover’ became an instant bestseller, selling out in multiple outlets worldwide despite the announcement just before sales began.
