BTS’ V’s “Love Me Again” exceeds 800 million streams on Spotify

V (Kim Taehyung) of BTS continues to make waves in the music industry, with his solo debut track “Love Me Again” surpassing a remarkable 800 million streams on Spotify. This historic achievement makes “Love Me Again” the first Korean B-side track to reach such an impressive milestone.

For those unfamiliar, a B-side track refers to a secondary song typically released alongside an A-side, or main track, on a single or EP. The term originated in the vinyl record era, where the B-side often featured a lesser-promoted song. Despite this, “Love Me Again” has proven that even B-side tracks can achieve massive success.

Released on August 10, 2023, as part of the pre-release for V’s solo debut album ‘Layover,’ “Love Me Again” quickly became a fan favorite. The music video for the track has also been a significant hit, amassing over 102 million views on YouTube. This milestone makes it V’s third music video to surpass 100 million views. It joins the ranks of his previous solo tracks, “Winter Bear” and “Sweet Night.”

Upon release, ‘Layover’ made an impressive impact on various music charts worldwide. “Love Me Again” and fellow track “Rainy Days” topped Oricon’s daily digital singles chart, securing the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively.

“Love Me Again” made an impressive debut on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, entering at No. 10 with 3.77 million streams on its first day. Meanwhile, “Rainy Days” debuted at No. 12 with 3.57 million streams. Both tracks reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in multiple countries. These include major markets like the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France.
