Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra renders and 360-degree video leak reveals sleek design and camera upgrades

After several series of rumors, the first renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra have been leaked by Android Headlines and @OnLeaks. The collaborative leak gives us a preview of what to expect in design and features from the South Korean company’s future flagship, which will incorporate many changes compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

    A sleeker, lighter design

Perhaps the most talked-about aspect to have emerged from renders that have managed to leak their way into the public domain is the fact that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be flat, compared to the curved sides of its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

According to reports, the Galaxy S25 Ultra measures around 162.8 × 77.6 × 8.2 mm, making it narrower and thinner than the previous model, which could result in a more compact design. Moreover, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to weigh about 13 grams less than the S24 Ultra at 219 grams, offering a slight improvement in portability.

The ultra-narrow bezels may enhance the screen’s visual appeal, but their effect on usability and durability remains unclear. In a nutshell, the design changes might be an improvement, but we’ll have to see how existing users who preferred the rounded edges react.

    Camera specifications: An incremental upgrade?

According to rumors, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will continue the Samsung tradition of having a very high emphasis on camera technology. The primary camera could use the 200MP Samsung sensor for highly detailed shots. It may also include a new 50MP ultra-wide camera and a dual telephoto system: a 10MP 3x telephoto and a 50MP 5x telephoto.

Although these upgrades look impressive on paper, especially for camera users, we need to see how they perform in real-world use compared to the S24 Ultra. The front reportedly carries on with a 12MP camera, as it has been previously. While this choice may seem conservative, software enhancements could still ensure that the selfie and video qualities meet expectations.

    Performance: A familiar power setup

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will most likely feature the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, reportedly optimized specifically for Samsung’s Galaxy line. This should bring in a higher degree of performance, but still speculative is exactly how much real-world difference that will make compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

In addition, it is also likely to retain the 5000mAh battery, with 45W fast charging and Qi wireless charging. While it’s per previous series predecessors, this doesn’t really bring significant advancement in both charging technology and battery life.

Software: Android 15 and One UI 7

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is reportedly coming with Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7 interface. Details on One UI 7 are scant, but as with previous iterations, users can arguably expect some user experience refinements and possibly new features designed toward enhancing the feature set. This should offer better usability for those heavily invested in the Samsung ecosystem.

    Launch and availability

Although Samsung has not announced official dates yet, the company is likely to unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra in January 2025, continuing its tradition for flagship releases. In either case, buyers are likely to get a better picture concerning price and location with more information becoming available.
