BABYMONSTER announces “HOT SAUCE” with a retro hip-hop vibe
According to promotional materials released, “HOT SAUCE” promises a bold, vibrant concept. The group showcased a colorful retro styling, using primary colors reminiscent of 1980s old-school hip-hop, paired with playful expressions and dynamic choreography. This visual direction highlights BABYMONSTER’s youthful energy and genre versatility, while offering a nod to the golden era of hip-hop reimagined for today’s audience.
An electronic billboard-style logo set against a white background further amplifies the group’s striking aesthetic. With its vivid color scheme, the logo hints at a high-energy summer track.
Producer Yang Hyun-suk teases addictive summer track
YG Entertainment founder and general producer Yang Hyun-suk provided additional insight into the single. Describing it as “an addictive hip-hop song from the mid-to-late 1980s,” Yang emphasized that “HOT SAUCE” was prepared as a gift to fans for summer.
“We hope this will be a fun and refreshing experience for everyone,” Yang stated, referencing the track’s upbeat tempo and nostalgic influences.
Comeback roadmap and future releases
In addition to the July release, YG Entertainment confirmed a structured comeback plan for BABYMONSTER. The group is expected to follow “HOT SAUCE” with a second digital single in September and a mini-album in October. This ambitious schedule positions BABYMONSTER as one of the most actively promoted fourth-generation girl groups in 2025.
Six-member lineup for “HOT SAUCE” promotions
For the “HOT SAUCE” era, BABYMONSTER will promote as a six-member team: Rora, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Ruka, and Chiquita. Member Rami will not participate in the upcoming activities due to health concerns.
In an official statement, YG Entertainment said, “Rami still needs ample time to recover. We ask for your generous understanding, as this decision was made with the artist’s health as the top priority.” The agency also assured fans of continued support for Rami’s recovery and reaffirmed its commitment to the group’s overall development.
