Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge teased for May 13, ‘Beyond Slim’ launch poster leaked

Samsung’s long-awaited Galaxy S25 Edge, one of the most talked-about smartphones with an ultra-slim design, is finally about to hit the market. The phone, described as the most design-oriented offering from the company to date, has been under speculation for several months. Following a string of teasers and preliminary sightings, the launch date of the Galaxy S25 Edge appears to be imminent, with leaks pointing to a May 13 release in South Korea.

Hints From Samsung’s Q2 earnings call

During its Q2 earnings call on April 30, Samsung made strong hints that the Galaxy S25 Edge is to be released shortly. The company confirmed the presence of the phone outright, with spokesperson Daniel Araujo declaring, “With the S25 series, including the soon-to-be added Edge, we will continue flagship-centric sales, along with seasonal promotions and sustained marketing efforts.”

The call also referred to the Galaxy S25 Edge as “soon-to-launch” and put it in the company’s “Q2 outlook” — a time frame running from April to June. Samsung did not name a launch date, but its previous Unpacked events tend to happen during this period.

    Leak suggests May 13 unveil

Promotional photos posted by trusted leaker Evan Blass on X (formerly Twitter) highlight the text “Beyond slim” and a date in Italian — “13 maggio 2025”. It means Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, 2025.

Based on these leaked images, the phone will initially become available in Samsung’s domestic market of South Korea before expanding to other markets, such as the US, later in the month. Similar to past Samsung flagship launches, the company is likely to pilot demand in its native country before expanding availability to global markets.

This date coincides with earlier reporting by SamMobile, which reported May 13 as the anticipated reveal date. Pre-orders would reportedly start shortly after, with the device hitting Chinese and South Korean markets around May 20 and reaching U.S. shores by May 30, the same source said.

    “Beyond slim” design

The teaser photos released with the May 13 launch date further emphasize the Galaxy S25 Edge’s major selling point: its incredibly thin profile. The phone is likely the thinnest phone Samsung has ever made, with a design so thin that it could set a new industry standard. The term “Beyond slim” prominently displayed in the teaser suggests just how much emphasis Samsung has put into making the Galaxy S25 Edge a visually appealing, ergonomically comfortable device.

The teaser also features the silhouette picture of the phone, providing fans with a closer examination of the edge-to-edge screen and the slim profile that the phone is believed to have. Though the information is scarce, these first glimpses have already generated anticipation among fans waiting to know the differences between the Galaxy S25 Edge and its lineage in design and performance.

Galaxy Unpacked event likely to be virtual

Samsung has yet to schedule an official Galaxy Unpacked event for the S25 Edge, but assuming the May 13 launch date becomes a reality, a virtual reveal becomes more likely. Physical launch events typically involve pre-event invitations — something yet to happen, which makes an in-person unveil less likely in light of the short lead time.

Interestingly, May 13 is a Tuesday, whereas Samsung habitually positions product announcements mid-week, either on Wednesdays or Thursdays. This information implies that there is some room for maneuver in the specific date, although the existing timeline does seem in line with recent developments in Samsung’s product launch policy.

    What else is coming?

Aside from the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung’s earnings call also talked about future revisions to its Galaxy Z foldable phones and the Galaxy Watch series. Although specific details or information regarding those products remain undisclosed.
