BTS has officially confirmed its long-awaited comeback, announcing the release of a new album on March 20, 2026. The return marks the group’s first full album in nearly four years, following the release of the anthology album ‘Proof’ in June 2022.
BTS confirms comeback on March 20
The comeback date was first revealed through handwritten letters sent by BTS to ARMY, to mark the New Year. In the letters, the members expressed gratitude to ARMY for their continued support and subtly revealed the comeback by writing the date “2026.03.20”.
The physical letters were delivered to fans who have maintained their Weverse membership over the past three years. Fans who did not receive a physical copy will be able to view the same messages digitally on Weverse by the end of January.
Members share personal messages of gratitude
Each of the seven BTS members expressed their appreciation and anticipation in personal handwritten messages. RM wrote, “We’ve waited more earnestly than anyone else.” Jin thanked fans directly, saying, “Thank you so much for waiting.” SUGA added, “Let’s have fun together this year too. I love you.”
j-hope described the moment as a long-awaited reality, writing, “What we thought of has finally become reality!” Jimin noted, “The year we meet has come,” while V told fans, “In 2026, we will make even more good memories, so please look forward to it!” Jung Kook concluded with, “We miss you! Please take care of us this year too.”
New Year live broadcast hints at album and tour plans
BTS welcomed the new year with fans in a Weverse live on December 31, 2025, appearing as a full group. In the stream, the members looked back on the past year and shared their goals for 2026.
“We hope we can make a safe comeback this year and have a successful album. Let’s make BTS a huge success.”
World tour planned following album release
In addition to the album release, BTS confirmed plans to embark on a large-scale world tour following the March 20 comeback. While specific dates, venues, and ticketing details have not yet been announced. The group stated that additional information about the new album and concerts will be released through official channels at a later date, including Weverse and the group’s social media platforms.
