Google teases Pixel 10 series ahead of August 20 launch, reveals new design and color options

Google has officially started the countdown for its next new flagship smartphone series, the Pixel 10 series, by showing a teaser video ahead of the launch event on August 20, 2025. The teaser, posted on Google’s official website, provides the first glimpse of the design of the new Pixel 10 Pro, and also suggests major upgrades to the base model.

Pixel 10 series teaser highlights refined design

The brief teaser clip starts with the visual of the digit “10,” which morphs into a silhouette of the Pixel 10 Pro, highlighting its camera bar—a feature of Pixel design language. The phone seems to feature a triple rear camera module, comprising what is to be the wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens.

Despite Google not yet confirming the colors, the lighting effects on the teaser are a clear indication that Pixel 10 Pro could be available in Jade and Moonstone—two colors previously rumored. Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (white/cream) will also be back, continuing the brand’s tradition of providing both bold and clean finishes.

Pixel 10 press renders reveal expanded color palette and camera upgrade

In a separate news, press renders of the Pixel 10 in official-looking form have surfaced online. According to the renders, the phone will be available in at least four colors: Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Lemongrass. Notably, the base Pixel 10 features a larger camera bar than its predecessor and finally includes a triple rear camera setup—rumored to feature a telephoto lens, previously exclusive to the Pro models.

These updates indicate Google is narrowing the hardware divide between the base and Pro versions, possibly due to growing competition from Apple, Samsung, and other Android OEMs in the flagship market.

Exclusive Pixel 10 offer for Google Store subscribers

Google has also created a unique promotion for its loyal users. Google Store subscribers prior to August 19 at 12:30 PM IST will receive a unique promotion tied to the Pixel 10 series. While the exact terms of the campaign remain unclear, early subscribers may receive rewards such as store credits, accessory discounts, or extended warranties.

For subscribers, subscription details are available on the Google Store itself.

Strategic shift in Pixel launch timeline

Unlike in previous years, when Google revealed Pixel phone details months in advance, the company is taking a more direct marketing approach with the Pixel 10 lineup. Releasing the teaser just a month before launch suggests that Google is revamping its marketing strategy, likely to manage leaks more effectively and build focused enthusiasm closer to the event.

This new timeline retains Apple’s and Samsung’s winning playbook of launch by emphasizing a brief period of high-impact marketing.

What to expect on August 20

While Google hasn’t officially announced full specs yet, the Pixel 10 series is expected to ship with the latest Tensor G4 chip, sophisticated AI capabilities built directly into the system, and polished Android 15 experiences from day one. The launch event shall live-stream globally, with pre-orders likely to begin shortly afterward. More details are expected in the coming weeks as Google ramps up its official announcements.
